The start of March is a beautiful thing. Coming out of winter is so refreshing and most importantly the countdown to the London Marathon really starts! Training so far has been going well although I am battling some Sciatic nerve issues still from the Great North Run and a nasty bout of sinusitis slowed me down, I have been making good progress in my training.
I am REALLY looking forward to the Big Half in just over a week, we have over 300 Fordy Runners taking part which is just amazing! We have had to put on two meet-ups and I just can’t wait to cross the line with some of the guys. The Community just goes from strength to strength!
What really excites me though this month has been the launch of Fordy Runs for Teens Unite! I have had this under wraps for a while but this is an awesome challenge that will hopefully help raise a lot of money for Teens Unite whom I am proud to be an Ambassador.
Today seven teenagers in the UK will hear the words you have cancer. Seven more will hear them tomorrow and seven more the day after that. At a time of fear, isolation and loneliness, Teens Unite are bringing 13-24 year olds who have been diagnosed with cancer, together. Teens Unite are doing something awesome, they have just launched a capital appeal to open the first UK mainland purpose built retreat for 13-24 year olds who have battled or are battling cancer.
I am proud to be launching FORDY RUNS for TEENS UNITE. On September 21st Fordy Runs will be taking on the Ragnar Relay. This event is a 177 mile relay along the Kent coast that will be completed in 24 hours! I have put together 10 Everyday Runners to help me complete this challenge which will hopefully inspire people to sponsor us. All the money we raise will go to Teens Unite.

Money is tight for everyone at the moment, I can totally relate to that but I am hoping you can spare something to help us make a difference to the guys and girls who are or have battled cancer.
