I really love May and June as it is the only time of the year where I am out of a training plan! I can free wheel it for a bit! I am still waiting to see a specialist about my Sciatica which continues to give me problems but as before I am managing it the best I can. Hopefully I will not have to wait much longer. In the meantime I have started working on a bit of speed training. Hills will come into my training from July onwards so for now I focussing on Tempo and Interval runs. My max long run distance is 20k as I do not really need to be hitting big numbers. At the moment I am in the middle of a very busy race/event period. Some of my favourite events are coming up including the Southend Half Marathon that Fordy Runs will be taking over! Last weekend I was so proud to be apart of the first Teens Unite Charity Run, it was a real success and the guys did an incredible job in hosting their first run. It was amazing to see so many people come together and raise over £4000 for Teens Unite. The run itself was awesome, the course was amazing and we had just perfect weather. It was also epic to see Matt and Billy both smash their 10k Pbs! What was ironic that weekend was it was the anniversary of the very first Fordy Runs meetup so to spend the day with my friends that I have made through this awesome Community was very special. One of the great things with Fordy Runs is that we are now getting heard by some of these big events. The other week we were asked by the Vitality 10000 organisers to put together a team of volunteers which we were very happy to do! I am now more excited to see our guys at the end handing out the goody bags than I am actually running the event! I must also thank everyone who voted for Fordy Runs in the recent Running Awards! We came a very respectful second in the Bloggers section. The guy who won the section tweets poems so to come second with an actual blog/vlog made me very proud and especially as this was our first year. Marathon training starts at the end of June so I am going to enjoy the next few weeks. I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am for the Southend Half!
Good luck everyone with what you got coming up I will catch you later!
