Best Winter Running Shoe?
Is the Saucony Truimph 20 Runshield the best winter running shoe? It is not far off! Over here in the UK Saucony did not release the Endorphin Speed 3 Runshield so for me I needed an alternative winter longer run shoe and luckily they released the Truimph Runshield!

Upper
The upper on this Truimph is a joy! Plenty of protection against the elements but also nice and warm. The fit is generous with plenty of height and width in the toebox. The lockdown is 'ok' you defiantly have to remember to tighten them up if you are off on a longer run. The combination of the weatherised upper and warmer in-shoe feel defiantly make this one of the most comfortable winter shoes to have in your rotation.
Midsole
The Runshield versions of the Saucony shoes are defiantly softer. For the Truimph I think this added softness is a real bonus as it just improves the ride. I like the highish stack in this shoe combined with the PWRRUN+ compound it just works well when you want to cruise.
Outsole
I love this outsole! It feels like it is biting into the tarmac! There are still plenty of leaves on the paths and with the usual wet weather her in the UK the shoes excel in these winter conditions.
Value
£132 is a good price for this shoe. It was originally £160 I think but around that £130 mark is much better for a shoe you can really only wear for a certain part of the year. This shoe does offer good value as you can train for whatever you are doing over the winter in it.
Does it make you feel awesome?
Yes because you are warm and comfortable! It is such an easy shoe to run in, no bells and whistles but it just glides along eating up those wet and cold miles.
Yah or Nah?
Big Yah from me! This I think is the best winter marathon shoe you can buy. You can do all your winter marathon training in it. The shoe is comfortable and offers some weather protection, combined with the softer more response PWRRUN+ midsole on this version, it just ticks so many boxes. Well done Saucony this Truimph 20 Runshield is a must have for anyone doing a training block this winter.
