Welcome to our awesome Rock Up N'Run Race Series! Our monthly NON conventional races along the beautiful River Lee are changing the way races and events are being held! We have some amazing initiatives that make the whole race and event hassle free, contactless, cost effective and about as easy as anyone can make it!

Each month there will be an opportunity to run a 5k, 10k and Half Marathon plus a cheeky Spring Marathon! Our VERY FLAT multi-terrain route along the stunning River Lee canal tow path is a real treat anytime of the year!

With no three hour wait before you set off in a packed pen full of people you don't know at our Rock Up N'Run races you come along from 8am till 10am and we will scan the QR code from your phone, you then go down our schute and off you go! You can pick your distance on the day as they are all the same price and you get an awesome finishers medal at the end of it! You can even sign up on the day via the app! if it looks nice out just get on our App or online and grab a ticket and come along!

Our races are part of a series and we want you to collect all the colours of our super cool medal! There are six medals up for grabs at our first six events before we move to a new design! Grab all six to complete the set!

To keep the costs down and reduce our impact on the environment we have done away with the very expensive Chip Timing systems and race bibs. We know you runners all time yourselves so to save you time and money we just ask you submit your time via our website and we will then publish the race results. Obviously this is a trust system but we know you believe the same as us that you are only cheating yourselves! If you do not have a GPS watch or not linked to an App just clock the time you leave on our awesome digital clock (which is filmed on start and finish line to verify times if needed) and check it when you finish! You can download a free customisable race bib if you want one below!

Our event will be totally contactless (apart from opening the portaloo door!)  as we live in a post pandemic world! Once finished you will be able to grab your Finishers Medal from from our Medal table . There will be no fancy finishers t-shirt because we know you have enough of those already and no goody bag as they just get thrown! We will have photo's which will be free and will be added to the website after the event and these will be taken by our super cool marshalls on their phones ... why pay for photos!! There is no baggage drop and we run in all weathers (unless unsafe)!

This event is run under an England Athletics license and as such adheres to all rules and guidelines set out by England Athletics. We make our races COVID compliant and commit to being COVID secure. We are trying to help the Canals and River Trust and as such give you an option when purchasing to make a donation to the Trust. Anyone dropping litter will immediately be removed from the event and banned. We ask you bring your own hydration. We will have an aid station but this is for anyone who maybe struggling and need hydration. All drinks will be supplied in paper cups.

  • Please follow all the latest guidelines in relation to COVID-19

  • The race start is very close to St Margaret's Station

  • Please follow signs on how to enter the race start

  • We are operating a strict one way system into and out of the start please follow the signs

  • The race (first wave) starts at 0800

  • The race is self-timed and please start your devices as you cross the start line and finish line. There are clocks which are being filmed to ensure all times are correct and not false.

  • There are three distances so please follow the signage on course for your route including turnaround signs.

  • Inline with EA guidance there are no drinks on course for the 5k and 10k. We advise strongly bringing your own hydration. For the half marathon there is a water station with limited cups of water at Dobbs Weir. Please place your cup in the bin provided.

  • No headphones as per UKA rules. We do permit Bone Conduction headsets but you run with these at your own risk.

  • We share the Canal Path and Lea Valley with the general public. The course is wide enough in most parts for at least two people but if there are other users this reduces it to single file. Please give way to other users of the paths. We advise single file and to keep to the left (unless guided otherwise).

  • The Route is along water on many parts, please take care and do not fall in. You run at your own risk.

  • Do not litter - any littering and you will be reported and maybe prosecuted by local authorities.

  • Look for signage advising of uneven surfaces.

  • There are marshalls on course. Any issues or you are unwell please notify one.

  • There is an aid station at 3k which you will run past at least twice if running 10k or the Half and is 0.5km from where the 5k turns. A first aider is present at that point and at the start/finish.

  • The course is multi-terrain and as such maybe muddy and wet in places. The general condition is good but please take care.

  • Most of the route has plenty of room but as a multi-terrain course there are one or two points for single runners. There are also low hanging trees and other natural hazards so please take care.

  • We recommend decent running shoes with a good outsole in the winter because of the multi-terrain route.

  • Half Marathon - your lap 2 turn is the only full turn on the course but be prepared for it. You will see it on your lap 1 and go past it. Please look behind before you turn.

  • The Finish is clearly  signed and is just along from the Start. We are using a one way system to be inline with COVID measures so please follow the signs to your medal and then the exit.

  • Please collect any belongings and leave.

  • The pub opens at lunchtime and the Village Cafe is great as well!

  • Get home and sign up for next month!

  • Tell everyone you know how awesome the event was and get them to sign up!
