Entry means you have read, understood and are in agreement to this statement

Registration and Timing 

  • Please ensure you have read and accept the terms and conditions relating to your registration and processing of your information before you register. 

  • This event is self-timed. This means you agree to time your run on your own device and submit the time via the instructions on the website after the event.

  • This timing is based on an honesty system and any cheating will not be accepted, your time will be deleted and you will be banned from future events. If an affiliated runner we will report you to your Club and UK Athletics.

  • We will film the official timing clock which is in place to cross reference any queries. 

  • Your registration on race day will be via the QR code on your race confirmation. We require you to bring this with you on race day. If you do not produce this code we may refuse you entry to the event.

  • If you miss your wave time we will make best attempts to get you into the event but we reserve the right to decline your entry and will not refund your ticket price.

  • For safety reasons we may need to move your wave and will notify you of this.

  • Membership Plan means you agree to purchase 6 races for the price of 5. The six races must be booked once the plan has been purchased. All terms and conditions relating to race entry including cancellation are also valid for a purchased membership plan. 

  • Membership plans can not be transferred to other runners or used by other runners for events. Only the person registered to use the plan can run.


Data & Communication

  • You can obtain the information we hold about you, request its rectification and request its deletion. We do not use third party data processors.

  • We will only use contact information submitted in order to provide race information and communication.

  • The data you give us will be used to create the entry list for our events but no directly identifiable information other than your name and race group will appear on any documentation

  • Before entering personal information please ensure your browser is operating a secure session. Check the status bar for a padlock symbol

  • All data relating to your entry and participation will be deleted within 1 month of the race. It is not released to any third party with the exception of the race organisers

  • As you are entering personal data, you have given your consent to us for processing this personal data by opting in accepting the terms of this statement

  • We require your personal information to process your entry to the Event.  If required we may pass information to the governing body or any affiliated organisation for the purpose of insurance, medical information, licences or for publishing results. Results will include name, any club affiliation, WAVA percentage, race times and age category. We may also send results by email and SMS to you as part of entry to the Event. 

Competitor’s responsibility statement

Participating in any sport requires specific training, fitness and skills. When you register yourself to our event you are agreeing that:

  • I confirm that I am sufficiently fit and healthy to cope with the demands and stresses of the event entered

  • I accept that taking part in this event by its nature could be hazardous and there may be other unforeseeable risks to which I consent

  • I accept that I owe a significant duty of care to all other competitors, spectators, general public, other users of public highways or canal tow paths and race officials

  • I will exercise all reasonable care to avoid causing death, injury or loss to any such persons and will indemnify the event organisers and their partners from and against any liability found against them arising out of my negligent or reckless acts

  • I accept that in the event of my requiring medical attention during the event the medical personnel appointed by the event organiser take no responsibility for the treatment provided for any unreported existing condition/s which increases the risk of a medical emergency

  • I acknowledge that the event organiser has relied on this statement (in its entirety) in accepting my entry to the event and that if I was unable or unwilling to agree to all the matters set out above in this statement of responsibility the event organiser would not allow me to compete. All statements of fact are true


Conditions of Entry

  • By entering the event, all applicants agree to abide by our terms and conditions as listed

  • All applicants are aware that the nature of the event is physically demanding and that by entering the event they are confirming that they are capable of completing the event and that the organisers will not be held responsible for any death, injury or illness as a result of their participation

  • The entrant waives and discharges from any and all liability for death, disability, personal injury, property damage, property theft and all other foreseeable risks, claims or actions of any kind (including negligence) whatever and however occurring which may arise, at any time, from or in connection with, directly or indirectly, their participation in the Event, the following persons or entities:

  • The Event Organisers, Event officials and personnel, land managers and/or owners, event sponsors, volunteers, and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, independent contractors, representatives, agents and volunteers will face no action from you in the event of death, injury, illness, crime or any such matters that you are involved in before, during and after the event.

  • Our events take place in open and natural environments and as such hold lots of natural slip, trip and fall opportunities. The roads around the event that you use are maybe open to traffic and the public. We are sharing parts of the race with the public and you will be held responsible for your actions. You enter knowing of the dangers and accept full responsibility for your action(s) yourself and that of those around you.

  • Fordy Runs Races, Fordy runs and Fordy Runs Running Club accept NO responsibility for any loss or injury however so caused by entering this event.

  • The entrant understands and complies with all the relevant information, rules and specifications for the event entered.


Competitor Withdrawal and Transfer

  • No refunds will be made if you do not attend the event Race/Event Information

  • If you are unable to attend the race we will not refund your ticket but may offer you (depending on conditions of withdrawal) a transfer option to one of our next events

  • All information relating to the event will be published on www.fordyruns.com

  • Any advance changes or alterations to the course or event will also be published on the website

  • It is the responsibility of all competitors to ensure they are aware of all information relating to the event Entrants Information/Photography

  • The entrant authorises the use of their name, voice, picture and video along with any information provided on the event entry system/form to be used without payment in any broadcast, telecast, communication, promotion, or advertising

  • The entrant also agrees that the information provided may be used by the event organisers for the purpose of promoting future or other events or for the promotion of the event charity/charities, race sponsors products and services

  • Fordy Runs, Fordy Runs Races and Fordy Runs Running Club maintain the right to refuse or revoke entry to any entrant entirely at their discretion on this basis no refund or transfer of entry will take place.

  • Fordy Runs, Fordy Runs Races and Fordy Runs Running Club maintain the right to refuse or revoke entry to any entrant entirely at their discretion Force Majeure

  • “Force Majeure” means an act of God, this may result in circumstances beyond our control that we are unable to deliver an event. In such circumstances competitors will not be eligible for any refunds, whether full or partial. These terms and conditions will be dealt with under the law of England and Wales

  • In the event the race is cancelled we will contact all entrants setting out what happens next and this may result in the transferring of your entry but there will be no refunds.


  • The race organisers are operating under within a COVID-19 secure environment inline with England Athletics guidelines. All attempts are made to maintain this secure environment and any deviation from this the organisers are not responsible for.

  • Please wash your hands inline with the guidelines including sanitising them before attending the event and do the same when returning from the event.

  • We operate outside and as such we are able to work in a COVID-19 secure environment.

  • If you are showing any COVID-19 symptoms 14 days prior to the event you will not attend and accept either the possibility of transferring your entry to a later date or losing your entry fee. If you have shown symptoms you agree to follow all Government guidelines on what steps to take next.

  • If you are showing any COVID-19 symptoms on the morning of the event you agree not to attend the event and will follow all Government guidelines on what steps to take next.

  • If you are showing any COVID-19 symptoms 14 days after the event you agree to follow all Government guidelines on what steps to take next.
