This is the Saucony Omni 23 ST and it is the best stability running shoe you can buy in 2026!
The Saucony Omni 23 ST came onto my radar completely by accident. After a recommendation from one of the FORDY RUNS community and a deep dive into some excellent analysis from Doctors of Running, I decided to pick up a pair and see what all the fuss was about. A few weeks and plenty of miles later, I can confidently say this is the best stability running shoe I've run in for a very long time.
Who Is This Shoe For?
Before diving in, it's worth explaining my own relationship with stability shoes. I don't run exclusively in them, but I do keep a mild stability option in my rotation. During peak marathon training, when the legs are tired and form starts to deteriorate, a stability shoe can provide that little bit of extra support and control.
That's where the Omni 23 ST excels.
Whether you're a runner who occasionally needs some guidance when fatigue sets in, or someone who relies on stability shoes every day, the Omni 23 ST deserves your attention.

What Makes It Different?
The biggest story here is the full-length PWRRUN PB midsole. Traditionally, stability shoes have a reputation for being firm, heavy and, frankly, boring. The Omni 23 ST completely changes that perception. The PWRRUN PB delivers a ride that feels smooth, lively and surprisingly energetic. There's a noticeable bounce underfoot without feeling unstable or overly soft. It's not quite the same formulation found in Saucony's Endorphin racing range, feeling closer to what you'd experience in the Triumph series, but that's actually a good thing. The result is a shoe that offers genuine stability without sacrificing enjoyment.
Stability Without Feeling Restrictive
The support comes from a combination of a wide platform, a supportive PWRRUN frame around the midsole and a well-designed geometry. What's impressive is how subtle the stability feels. Rather than aggressively correcting your stride, the shoe simply provides a stable foundation that keeps you feeling secure throughout your run. It never feels intrusive or overbearing, making it suitable for runners who need mild to moderate support. For me, it's exactly the sort of shoe I reach for when the legs are tired and my running form starts to become less efficient.
Ride Quality
This is where the Omni 23 ST separates itself from the competition. The ride is:
Smooth
Stable
Protective
Surprisingly fun
