The Adidas Supernova Solution 3 is currently the only stability or mild-stability running shoe in Adidas’ lineup, which in itself is quite surprising given how popular this category is. Sitting within the Supernova family—alongside the Rise, Glide, and Prima—the Solution 3 is designed squarely for daily mileage, offering guidance and comfort without feeling overbuilt or intrusive.

What’s New in Version 3?
The biggest update in the Supernova Solution 3 is the introduction of the full length Dreamstrike+ midsole. This peba blend compound improves the ride and underfoot experience. The other update here is the medial posting, something that was missing from the previous version. This is paired with higher sidewalls on the medial side, designed to reduce inward collapse and provide gentle guidance for runners who overpronate slightly—especially when fatigued. The shoe is also wider overall than the Solution 2, adding to its stable platform, though this comes with a small weight increase.
Ride & Performance
Underfoot, the Solution 3 feels firmer than both the previous version and the Supernova Rise. That firmness seems intentional and suits the shoe’s role as a stability-focused daily trainer. There’s a generous amount of foam in the heel, making it particularly comfortable for heel strikers.
Despite the firmer ride, the Dreamstrike+ midsole performs well across a range of paces. It’s happy ticking along on easy runs, but it can also handle moderate uptempo efforts without feeling flat or sluggish. This versatility is exactly what you want from a daily trainer.
Compared to traditional stability shoes like the ASICS GT-2000, the Solution 3 feels far more lively and modern. While it’s not as energetic or exciting as something like the Saucony Tempus, that’s not really the point—this is a reliable, old-school daily trainer with a modern foam.
Stability & Guidance
The new medial posting does its job subtly. It’s not intrusive, harsh, or plasticky like some stability elements can be. Instead, it quietly helps control pronation—particularly useful late in runs or during higher-mileage weeks when form starts to break down. For runners who only need mild stability, this approach works extremely well. You notice the support when you need it, but you don’t feel forced into an unnatural stride.
Fit & Comfort
Fit and comfort are standout strengths of the Supernova line, and the Solution 3 continues that trend. The Primeweave upper feels secure, comfortable, and well-structured, while the laces and overall lockdown are excellent. This is a shoe you can happily lace up day after day without any fuss.
Outsole & Grip
The Lightraxion outsole deserves special praise. In wet, muddy, leaf-covered UK conditions, it performs exceptionally well, offering reliable grip where many daily trainers struggle. It’s one of the most underrated aspects of the Supernova series and adds a lot of confidence to everyday running.
Value & Verdict
At £130, the Adidas Supernova Solution 3 is well-priced for what it offers, and discounts make it even better value. You’re getting a durable, well-made daily trainer with:
Modern foam
Comfortable fit
Excellent outsole grip
Subtle, effective stability
